Do you offer trade accounts?

Absolutely, we love working with other members of the industry and the public, and we are specifically setup to do both. If you would like to open a trade account, please get in touch.

How long does it take to receive a quote?

We aim to send quotes out within 1-3 working days, depending on the complexity of the items. For bespoke orders this will take slightly longer, as the design process will come first. But we don’t like keeping our customers waiting and all quotes will be sent out as soon as possible.

Are we able to see samples before we buy?

Absolutely, once we have sent you a quotation for the linens you like, we are more than happy to post out the relevant shade cards and fabric samples for you to feel the quality of our linens before buying.

For new trade accounts, we like to meet face to face at a time and place that suits you and share a range of our finest samples so you can take a look before we start working together. We also offer mini sample packs that you can keep on-hand to make future ordering super easy. Please give us a call to arrange this service.

Where are the goods manufactured?

All our linens are manufactured in the UK or Italy by various manufacturers, with the exception of our luxury towels which are produced in Portugal. We are proud to support local businesses and manufacturers within the UK, which is deeply rooted at the heart of our business. Exceptions are only made when items cannot be sourced from within the UK.

What are your delivery options?

For custom orders, we can’t charge for delivery at the point of ordering. As the final weight and package dimensions are unknown.

For online goods, we have a flat rate of £10 per order, to any UK address. Our preferred courier is DPD, which is normally a 1-2 day delivery throughout the UK, Monday - Friday.

Custom goods are delivered to TAYT Home first, for quality checking, before we send them on to our customers.

This is a vital part of the process to ensure that the products meet our high standards, and have been produced to your specifications.

We will then consolidate your order and contact you to organise the best delivery date for you.

You will then receive an invoice for the shipping costs. Shipping charges are to be paid in advance before dispatch.

What other items can you produce?

Our core items are shown on the website but we can also supply the following linens according to your preferences. Please contact us with the details of what you require along with sizes and quantities.

Standard (stocked) items still in the original packaging may be sent back for a refund, depending on the manufacturer’s terms. Administration and delivery fees may apply. If you’re unsure as to which items are classed as ‘standard,’ please check with us prior to ordering.

Any bespoke or customised items cannot be returned or refunded under our T&C’s. This includes any items made to order, according to your specifications.

To clarify, this applies regardless of exercising your legal right to cancel or return the items. This includes:

How do I care for my linens?

Your linens will last for many years if they are cared for well. Following the individual washing instructions on the label and storing them in a well aired environment will help prolong the life of your luxury linens.

Washing

Machine wash in warm (not hot) water – we recommend 40°C – on a gentle cycle. Use a mild biological liquid detergent without any added optical brightening agents.

Never pour detergents directly onto coloured linens. For any coloured borders we would advise the use of a colour catcher. All our cotton is best washed on a low spin to reduce creasing, which means easier ironing.

Always wash your linen separately to garments and other textiles with zippers, hooks, snaps or Velcro, which can cause pulls.

Fabric Conditioner

Don’t use fabric softeners. These only coat the fibres and make them appear softer. Use one cup of white vinegar in the rinse water to remove any traces of soap and leave fabrics smelling fresh.

Stains

Don’t use chlorine, bleach or stain removers, particularly on coloured fabrics. And never pour detergent or soap directly on your textiles. To freshen linens, use a cup of white vinegar in the wash, and for stubborn stains soak in a mix of vanish and white vinegar.

Tumble drying

The ideal way to dry linens is air drying on a line.

If you must use a dryer, use the lowest setting and never dry completely. During the last few minutes of a dryer cycle the fabric overheats and dries out, making it brittle and lifeless over time. Always remove them from the dryer while still damp.

Towels are best tumble dried which helps retain their softness, but be careful not to over dry.

Ironing

Ideally, you should press linens while they’re still damp. If not, you should air dry them. You can also air dry sheets by throwing them over a bed. If you smooth the wrinkles out at this point, the pressing becomes even easier

Storage

When storing your linens, fold them neatly and store in a dry area with some air ventilation. Never store sheeting in plastic as your linen’s natural fibres need to breathe. Keep away from direct light, as natural and artificial lighting can cause permanent yellowing.

Can I reorder the same items in the future?

All of your order details will be saved in our archive, making reordering with us a breeze.

Occasionally, manufacturers may discontinue fabrics, colours or threads, however, we’ll be able to recommend the best substitute and discuss your options.

Faulty Items

TAYT Home has a strict quality control procedure in place, which ensures our products are only dispatched in perfect condition. In the unlikely event of a fault, please contact us immediately to discuss within your 7 day window as per our policy. We can then discuss the best way forward.

What’s thread count?

Thread count is the total number of vertical (warp) and horizontal (weft) threads in one square inch of fabric. Basically, it’s a measure of how tightly woven a fabric is.

Thread count is used as a rough indicator of the softness and feel of a fabric but also used heavily in marketing to imply that a specific product is of a higher quality than competing sheets. While this is all true to a certain extent, thread count is not the only consideration when it comes to the overall quality of sheets.

The quality of the yarns, the threads used and the feel to the hand is often more important than the quantity of threads, or thread count. Many other factors also contribute to the performance of a set of bed sheets, like the manufacturer’s production process and the weave type.

Here at TAYT we offer a range of thread counts from 200TC – 1000TC, each special in its own way. All of the fabrics sourced are from the most trusted manufacturers in the world, which ensures that whatever fabric you choose, you’re getting high quality textiles that are built to last.

What’s our most popular fabric?

Our 600 ‘fine sateen’ and 570 ‘luxury sateen’ thread count pure Egyptian cottons are our best selling and most popular fabrics. Our 570tc referred to as ‘luxury sateen’ is made using a double twisted yarn making it extra durable and long lasting but also extremely luxurious and easy to iron and care for – your linens will become softer after each wash. Our most popular percale is the 500TC standard percale, which is beautifully crisp and smooth and feels fresh against the skin.

What’s GSM when referring to towels?

The weight of a towel is measured by the GSM (Grams per Square Metre).

Low GSM (300-400) towels are light and thin whilst high GSM (500-800) towels are thicker and heavier. For all towels, a GSM higher than 500 will provide a soft and absorbent towel. Typically, the higher the GSM, the better performance you will have from the towel.

TAYT only offers exceptional toweling in weights ranging from 500gsm – 800gsm, which means that whatever product you go for, you know it’s high quality and made to last.

What are the benefits of having Egyptian Cotton over other cottons?

Our Egyptian cotton is made from ELS (extra long staple) cotton which is more durable and stronger than short staple cottons. It’s hand picked and rolled in cotton gins to prevent damage to the fibres and is one of the finest grades of cotton in the world. This cotton actually becomes softer after each wash and will last for many years if cared for properly.

What’s Tog rating in reference to duvets?

In technical terms, tog ratings measure thermal resistance. In simple terms, the tog rating indicates how warm you are whilst sleeping under the duvet. As the rule follows, the higher the tog rating, the warmer you will be, whilst a lower tog rating will mean that you are cooler in bed. Typically togs range from 4-15, 4 being for warm summer months and 15 for cold winter nights.

We offer a complete range of duvets with everything in-between to suit all body temperatures and environments.
